Providence Custom Builders, LLC is a locally owned and operated company led by Charlotte native, Charles "Chuck" Winchester. With nearly 25 years of residential construction experience, our mission is simple: to build exceptional homes that reflect our clients' unique lifestyles, needs, and budgets while providing a positive, transparent, and enjoyable building experience from start to finish.

At Providence Custom Builders, we believe every home should be as unique as the family who lives in it. Unlike large production builders, we never treat our homes or communities as assembly-line projects. Each home is thoughtfully planned and carefully crafted with personal attention to every detail.

From the initial site evaluation and architectural planning to interior design selections and the final walkthrough, our team is actively involved in every stage of the process. This hands-on approach allows us to deliver a level of quality, communication, and customization that larger national firms simply cannot match.

Meet Our Managing Principal, “Chuck”:

Charles “Chuck” Winchester's passion for construction began at an early age. As a teenager, he worked in his father's grading business and gained hands-on experience across multiple building trades. Although his original goal was to obtain his contractor's license as soon as he was eligible, college and the economic challenges of the 1980 recession temporarily redirected his path.

During that time, Chuck founded and successfully operated a manufacturing company for nearly two decades. However, his passion for building never faded. In the early 2000s, he returned to the construction industry and pursued his lifelong dream of creating custom homes.

For more than 25 years, Chuck has specialized in luxury and custom residential construction throughout the Southeast Charlotte region. His portfolio includes homes across Western Union County and South Mecklenburg County in North Carolina, as well as Lancaster County, South Carolina. His reputation is built on quality craftsmanship, integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceeding client expectations.

When he's not building homes, Chuck enjoys spending time with his wife, Carol, and their energetic dog, Fletcher. Together, they are embracing the joys of empty-nest life while cheering on their three children as they build successful careers and grow their own families.
